God gives us so much grace. When we’re struggling with issues like body image or insecurity or comparison, his grace is our only cure. As Heather writes in the Burden of Better – she thought that she had a comparison problem, but what she really had was a shallow understanding of grace. If we truly understood all the different ways God’s grace was at work in every aspect of our lives, we’d be free from comparison and even body image worry! It’s also essential to have a good grip on grace so we can extend grace to others. What Heather often finds in her coaching is that those who have a hard time understanding and accepting God’s grace for themselves have an even more difficult time authentically extending grace to others.

Praying for Grace with Ourselves and with Others: Verse of the Day and Action Step

Verse of the Day: Ephesians 1:3-8 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he[a]predestined us for adoption to sonship[b] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding (NIV)
