This episode was originally called “How to Stop Troubleshooting Your Life” but it seems not many of you listened to it…so I’ve included it in the Summer RePlay series so you can catch it now if you missed it back in Season 2! In this episode we talk about all the different ways we see our body and our lives as projects that require constant improvement. If you’re like me, you may have spent your fair share of time on the self-improvement treadmill–always analyzing the ways that you could improve yourself of anything within your sphere of control. But when we live with this “troubleshooting” mentality, it really prevents us from ever being able to rest in God’s grace. In other words – when we are in constant “improvement project” mode, we can never just “be.”
I hope today’s episode will encourage you!
Stop Treating Your Body as a Project
We talk about how we can get so caught up in self-improvement that we miss out on what God has planned for us. We are not “fixer uppers” or computers in constant need of tech support–we are people made in the image of God. You need to listen if you’ve ever wrestled the constant nagging, “Must do better” feeling. Instead of viewing your body as a bunch of “problem areas” or “projects” why not rest in the truth that God made you for a purpose, on purpose.
