I am so excited to introduce to you the twelve ladies who will be contributing to Compared to Who? this year! I want to thank of each of you who applied and tell you, once again, that it was tough to even narrow it down to twelve. So, thank you for that.
This is the team that, I believe, God has put in place to minister to your hearts this year. We ALL have different stories. Part of my purpose in adding this team of contributors was to incorporate more stories from more women who will each have a slightly different perspective on the issues from their unique vantage points. Let me be clear, on this blog the answer will always and continue to be Jesus. (He’s the best solution to our body image and comparison woes.) But, my hope is that by adding these twelve women who all have different life experiences and are at different life stages, you will receive even more encouragement each week.
For the rest of the month and into early February I’ll be sharing a steady stream posts from these contributors that will let you know a little bit about them and the issues that are close to their hearts. After that, you’ll find their posts sprinkled in with the regular posts I’ll still be writing every week.
Without further ado . . . Let’s meet these fabulous ladies!
Mindy Pickens, Lead Contributor
Mindy Pickens a wife and mother who loves Jesus, her husband, their two daughters, coffee, books…and coffee. She spends her time homeschooling, tutoring in her homeschool community, and trying to figure out this whole home-maker thing. She’s a regular woman who is captivated by the gospel of Jesus Christ and is learning to surrender to the grace and goodness of God.
Emily Cox is a mother of a girl and two boys, a homeschool teacher, and has worked as a high school teacher and professor, children’s pastor and a missionary in Asia. She enjoys meeting people from around the world and helping them encounter the all sufficient love of Jesus for the first or five thousandth time.
Lauren Douglas is a wife and “Mommy” to 2 little ones. She enjoys reading, crafting, exercise, and coffee. She loves the freedom and grace she has found through Christ and prays that her home and life reflect that faith. Lauren blogs at www.faithledhome.com.
Hallie is a 30-year-old, energetic Jesus follower living the single gal life in her hometown, Austin, Texas. She is technically a lawyer but likes to think of herself as an advocate and a cheerleader for those without a voice (seeing as she has enough voice to share). She is passionate about serving children in foster care and encouraging women to live the fullest, most free lives that Jesus has called them to live. Hallie is obsessed with Broadway shows, La Croix fancy water, hummus, red wine, group fitness classes, and her people, and she can almost always be found somewhere around Town Lake.
Erin Kerry is wife to Richard and “mama” to Isabel and Roman. She works as an English teacher and ESL Department Head for a middle school in Plano, Texas as well as ambassador for Plexus Worldwide. She loves bingeing on Netflix with her husband, playing games with her kids, getting sucked into a good book, running races (slowly), discovering unique craft beers, and trying out new Mexican restaurants.
Laura went straight from college to Washington, D.C. where she worked for a Senator on Foreign Policy. She gave up the job of her dreams for the man of her dreams. After spending a few years working on campaigns and teaching college classes, she traded in her business suits for athletic shorts. She now spends her days chasing her rambunctious boys through the park, cooking, building train tracks and reading. She and her family live in Dallas, Texas. You can follow her chaotic and full life at: happilymurrayed.com.

Her goal is to inspire others to consider their own effectiveness and to try to find new avenues to improvement.
Amanda Wihebrink is married to her favorite person, Brad, and they have two bright young daughters, Sage & Ivy. She is a self proclaimed lyricist, coupon Nazi, and would monogram everything if she could. She loves making people laugh with her goofy sense of humor and quick wit. Her happy place is on a beach with a book and mess of chocolates.
Sarah lives in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri with her husband and 3 teenage sons. She enjoys leading women’s bible studies at her church, online shopping, and playing Bingo at bingo halls! She’s a little bit quirky, a little bit sassy, and whole lot of serious about Jesus!
